Since we couldn’t get on the first fortress, the only chance left us to climb to the top of the hill above the city itself. While from the first fortress called Mirabella you have a view at Omiš, from the Fortress Starigrad (Fortica) you have a view of the island of Brač, Hvar, and Šolta, Middle Poljica and the mouth of the river Cetina. Omiš is a tourist destination located 25 kilometers south of Split. The city of Omiš has a very good transport connection with Split and the best way of transportation is to travel by bus company Promet number 60.

Omiš Weather
Omiš has a Mediterranean climate and over 2600 hours of sunshine annually. During winter, the temperature is rarely below 0 degrees. Sometimes I can wear short sleeves throughout the day in December because the temperature can go up to 20 degrees.
The coldest months are January and February. Swimming is possible from the first of May until the end of October (this is approximate because each year is different). During June and July, the sea temperature can sometimes reach a high of 27 degrees. Sometimes it can happen that the sea temperature is higher than the air temperature.
