The title of the text “Slovenia puts Croatia on the list of red countries for travel” is not surprising because Croatia reports today the biggest daily jump in coronavirus infections! Slovenian government spokesman Jelko Kacin said today that the government of the Republic of Slovenia would put Croatia on the red list tomorrow, August 20. (Thursday). Also, tomorrow, Slovenia will set a deadline for the return of its citizens from Croatia in order to avoid a 14-day quarantine.
Croatia reports biggest daily jump in coronavirus infections – AGAIN
In the past 24 hours, 219 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection were recorded, and the number of currently infected (active cases) in Croatia today is a total of 1520. Among them are 122 patients on hospital treatment (11 patients on a respirator). Also, two people died today. Since February 25, 2020, when the first case of infection was recorded in Croatia, a total of 7,074 people have been infected with the new coronavirus (168 people died and 5386 recovered). Currently, 5459 people are in self-isolation. A total of 142,124 people were tested (1,653 people in the last 24 hours).

The highest number of newly infected is in the Split-Dalmatia County – 66, and in the City of Zagreb – 47.

Croatian Minister of Health: We will start testing more
“Today, 1653 people have been tested, which is a significant number. We will certainly increase the number of tests in the immediate period ahead because we want to protect the health and social care system. The increase in the number of tests has been shown to be effective in preventing the spread of the infection. Also, the Croatian Minister of Health, Vili Beroš, says: “Now, in the autumn, we will change the strategy a bit and increase the number of tests”.
Slovenia puts Croatia on the list of red countries
“The situation in Croatia is so bad that we have no choice but to call on our citizens to return to Slovenia as soon as possible. Things are getting worse quickly and it will be much worse,” Slovenian government spokesman Jelko Kacin said. He added that Slovenes who are now in Croatia will have “enough” time to return home and avoid quarantine, but also to avoid traffic jams and crowds at the border.
Interestingly, Kacin is spending the summer in his house in Klimno on the island of Krk for years. Last week, after a statement warning of an increase in new infections in Croatia, Kacin returned to Krk, apparently not in the least afraid of the “Croatian coronavirus”.

Valamar Hotels provided a free test on Covid-19 to Austrian guests
This year, 28,000 guests from Austria stayed in Valamar hotels and camps, mostly in the northern Adriatic in Istria and Kvarner. These destinations have recorded a particularly low number of cases since the beginning of the epidemic, Valamar reports. Moreover, no cases of infection have been reported among Valamar guests since the beginning of the epidemic.
